“Second time staying at Amanda's amazing accommodation in Auchenblae and another fantastic break. The town house is wonderfully situated, has all the comforts of home and more. Amanda is an excellent host, great welcome pack and communication is superb. Would recommend without any hesitation, you won't be disappointed!”
We offer an "off grid" living experience in a native woodland. This is a red squirrel stronghold. Ideal for a relaxing back to nature break and family holidays. There is a burn to guddle about in and plenty of space for kids to run wild ! Composting toilets, outdoor shower, wood fired bath, bonfire site, phone charger. Access via 1/2 mile rough track to parking, then 5min walk to hut. Although we are generally on site to offer help and advice, the hut is private and secluded.
“This place is magical! Ray and Lesley have created an inspiring space which we are grateful to have been able to share. They are brilliant hosts, always quick to respond and couldn’t have made us feel more welcome. Even Toby the dog came to hang out with us one night. We came here with our 2 year old boy and we all had a ball! The hut is quirky yet has everything you need and more. We loved exploring the area and discovering all the wee sculptures and creations that were dotted about. The hens are a special touch and the eggs delicious. The poly tunnel is amazing! It was such a nice trip, in nature, away from the noise of modern living. Nothing quite beats cooking on a fire or having an open air shower. We all need to spend more time appreciating the simple things and stop taking life for granted ❤️”
''Tranquil Retreat'' A Truly Unique Experience !! Come and relax while watching our red squirrels feeding on the doorstep!! Large country garden to explore and great family friendly woodland walks on our doorstep. Kids Outdoor play area and trampoline. 15 mins walk from Laurencekirk, shops and train station. Ideal base for exploring Scotland! We hope to see you soon!!
“This is our second time staying at the wonderful house. The hosts, Kevin and Erika, are so welcoming and a bottle wine and box of fudge was waiting for us as we arrived. The house itself is beautifully fitted and presented. Super comfy beds and a fantastic kitchen space to cook and socialise in. My two kids live the attic space for hiding away in to play with their toys, and their dad loved the table tennis table in the garage. The garden and woods provide so much space, freedom and adventure for us all to explore and have fun in. The garden is a wildlife haven. This week were lucky to see a mink, a hedgehog, and lots of friendly red squirrels and bunny rabbits. It is also the perfect base for exploring Angus. We loved visiting the wonderful St Cyrus beach, swimming in the ‘invigorating’ North Sea, playing in the sand, spotting peregrine falcons and buying fresh fish for dinner from the fishing village of Gourdon. We had a great time too at the fab outdoor (heated) pool at Stonehaven and a foody delight eating at the But n’ Ben restaurant at Auchmithie. However, it’s hard to beat the hand cut chips and freshly cooked haddock from the the Lournie chipper at Laurencekirk. To the other side of the house, we also explored the hidden gems of the Angus Glens. We climbed up Mount Battock and all the way round the back of Loch Lee at the top of Glenesk. The house and surroundings is the perfect destination for a family holiday. I can’t recommend it enough.”
