This part of the Scottish Highlands is a truly stunning area with an abundance of wildlife, beautiful views, walks and places of interest. Auchterawe House is a perfect place for walkers, hikers, cyclists and keen fishers. Auchterawe House is set in the woods of Auchterawe Forest. Take a cruise to see Nessie the Loch Ness Monster or stop off at the Caledonian Canal Centre in Fort Augustus. In Fort Augustus there are several pubs and restaurants to choose from.
“The house is located at a calm, lovely area and is very close to restaurants and shops in Fort Augustus. Sara and her husband were very gracious and made sure we were settled in and comfortable. The icing on top was of course the games room with ice hockey and pool table. We put some music on and had a few hours of recreation which was great after a long drive. I would definitely recommend the place to anyone who would like to avoid the hassle of a city and enjoy some peaceful and fun time.”

“This is a super place, ideally located with easy access to road links but very peaceful, quiet and in a lovely setting (don't forget to do a food shop in Inverness or Fort William before you arrive though). It is very well equipped with everything you need for a relaxing holiday. The annexe is cosy and warm, the bed is comfy, there is plenty of hot water, and a good shower. We had plenty of rain but were able to dry our walking kit easily overnight. Elizabeth and Justin are lovely - kind and helpful, but not intrusive in any way. We'd highly recommend this property, it's the perfect base for exploring the Great Glen area, including Glen Affric and some of the more remote/harder to reach areas such as Loch Hourn and Loch Arkaig, and we definitely hope to return.”
