We are now in our third year since renovating this 17th century cottage and I guarantee you will enjoy what we have created. We have tried to keep the character of the original building and yet be fresh and appealing for you to enjoy. The space is clean, contemporary yet cosy with all modern day comforts and king size bed to accommodate 2 guests. Skelton is a quiet village handy for M6 motorway and north lakes so is quick and easy to get to and has a pub "The Dog and Gun" serving great food.
“This was our second stay at Westoe Cottage; it was as pristine as when we first visited in 2018. The cottage is well equipped for all needs. The suggested walks from the house were really enjoyable and the location could not have been more perfect. The pub up the road is a gem; and close enough to be able to enjoy a few drinks without the worry of needing someone to drive. Would highly recommend!”
Delightful, bright, modern studio, situated in a quiet village within easy reach of the M6 - A6. Located mid way between Penrith and Carlisle, ideal for exploring the gorgeous Eden Valley and Lake District.
“Mandy's place is a stylish little studio, excellent for a pleasant stay for a couple (or a single traveller). It was immaculately clean, it has a small american style kitchen, a cozy livingroom and a bedroom with a very comfortable bed. We only spent one night there, but I could easily imagine a longer stay, while visiting the surrounding areas (Lakes, Pennines..) there'd be planty to see. We arrived quite late in the evening but Mandy made sure to personally greet us which was really kind of her and felt really welcoming. I can only recommend her listing!”
The Nook Cottage is a two bedroom, 2 bathroom beautifully finished character cottage, with well equipped kitchen, and private garden overlooking countryside, great for relaxing. The cottage has underfloor heating throughout and a wood-burning stove. Quiet countryside location yet only 4 miles into Carlisle City centre. The Northern Lake District and Hadrian's Wall are both less than a 30 minute drive away, and Carlisle City Centre is just a few minutes.
“Super relaxed cosy cottage. We loved the space for our young family. It provided a perfect break on route to Scotland. Easy and beautiful surroundings. In the morning, our daughter was able to help to feed the horses which was a nice touch and made her stay. All the essentials for breakfast were also provided which added the ease. Overall great stay, will definitely use again!”
