“We had a great stay at Maurice's cottage. Maurice was a lovely host who went out of his way to accomodate our dietary requests (vegan) for breakfast and even brought in soya milk sachets for coffee and tea. The bedroom was large and cosy with an en suite bathroom and a great view from the window. Maurice is a friendly and kind host who really welcomes you. Highly recommend if you're passing through”
Tulla Cottage was built in the early half of the 20th century. Its approximately 5 miles north of the Bridge of Orchy. For those walking the West Highland Way arrangements can be made to be collected from the Bridge of Orchy. Although Tulla is only a few hundred yards from the the A82 it is very tranquil, surrounded by ample wild land and its own burn. Although there are no evening meals at Tulla The Bridge of Orchy Hotel has a lovely menu. We are animal friendly having horses, dogs and cats.
“Lovely lovely host, and highly recommended stop for those walking the West Highland Way. She picked me up from Tyndrum, the town before Bridge of Orchy, as my feet were absolutely too tired to continue. She even bought me dinner, did my laundry, made me breakfast, and drove me halfway to my next stop. As of this writing, there were issues with Wifi, however, that's beyond her control due to the Scottish winter weather affecting her satellite, and something that I'm sure she'll get resolved in short time. She made my walk just that much more memorable in the best way possible.”
The shepherd's hut is completely self contained accomodation. It has a small kitchenette area with Belfast sink, hob, fridge and microwave as well as a pull out breakfast bar. Sleeping arrangements are a comfortable double bed with privacy curtain and small sofa bed. The bathroom consists of shower, sink and wc . It is warm and cosy as it has electric heating and a wood burning stove. It is bright and airy with windows with mountain views. It is well equipped with tea and coffee facilities.
“The Wee Hut felt more like a Wee Home. Rob & Denise really are super hosts. They provided a breakfast basket for the morning, logs for the amazingly efficient wood stove in the hut, and are both extremely friendly. Their dog Is also super adorable. For a small space, the hut has everything you need, and it’s custom designed for efficiency and coziness. The space includes a warm bathroom with a shower, a microwave, a hob/stove top, a mini fridge, a sink, a sofa/sofa bed, an amazing wood stove, a TV, a comfortable bed, and more. 100% would recommend to anyone travelling to Scotland.”
