“This is a fantastic little cottage. Jayne is a great host and leaves some really nice touches around the cottage. The cottage is we equipped with cooking utensils which was ideal for us as we cooked and ate in as we were with out dog. A great location to explore a variety of areas such as the Lake District, the western side of the dales and arnside. Supermarkets and pubs within driving distance but a nicr retreat away from the busyness of other areas. Would definitely stay again and Jayne was a great host. Quick communication, very accomodating and welcoming, lovely little touches and always there if you need her but allows you your own space.”

“Just returned from a 3 night stay in this lovely, warm cabin. Welcomed by Dave who had tips on the local dog friendly pub (unfortunately didn't get chance to call in as too much to do) and local walks. Plenty of space for a couple with off road parking and close to the river for an easy, flat 15-20 minute walk into town or head downstream towards Sizergh Castle for a longer walk. The cabin was spotless, well equipped with good quality furnishings. Even included shampoo, conditioner and liquid soap as well as washing up liquid. Something few self catering properties have. Good wifi, again this is rare in the Lakes. Shame it's a little early in the year to fully enjoy the enclosed, private decking area. I bet its lovely to have tea out there in summer.”
Olde Blue Bell Cottage forms part of an 18th century coaching inn that finally ceased trading in the 1950’s. Full of character, it provides a cosy base from which to explore the lakes, mountains and coast. Walk from the door up Heversham hill, for stunning views of the Cumbrian fells and estuary, or visit our 19th century pub for a relaxing drink, only a 5 minutes by foot. We provide a warm welcome to all, dogs and children especially.
“Mary is a great host. She rapidly responded to all my enquiries and was really helpful in arranging an early check in. The cottage is clean and neat. It worked really well for us travelling with young kids with smaller bowls and cutlery etc. there were lots of board games that all got a work out. It was warm, everything worked, there was loads of towels and the bath is big enough for an adult, let alone kids! It rained constantly and was windy and cold but the cottage was indeed cosy and a welcome retreat. Mary’s hospitality was top notch and when we had a minor problem she was quickly there and fixed it up. I would not hesitate to recommend the cottage to all future guests!”
