Vacation rentals with a fireplace in Loch Shiel

We have stayed at Burnside several times. It is a large warm, comfortable house and has easy access for our elderly father. The large picture window makes the most of the beautiful loch view. This is a great place for walking on Skye, Applecross, Killin and nearby. The large front, well kept lawn is enclosed and was greatly appreciated by my dog! We had an amazing time and had almost perfect warm and sunny weather all week! We'll undoubtedly be back.

Paula’s place was just as described. Very nice, clean and the decor is beautiful. The beds were very comfortable and we enjoyed the outdoor area as well. Highly recommend to anyone staying In the area.

We booked this house for a joint 70th birthday present to our parents and stayed with people aged between 1-70. It met all our needs well and the house is lovely and warm with good bathrooms, spacious kitchen and wonderful outdoor space.

The property was tranquil and peaceful with nice views. The accommodations were great, the kitchen was high tech and the beds were very comfortable. Katie was available if we needed anything. Would highly recommend this place to our friends.

An outstanding property in terms of location, style and comfort. Furnishings of a high standard and befitting the period character of the house. Enjoyed watching the changing patterns of weather from the comfortable indoor and outdoor furniture. Duncan was a gracious host. Highly recommended.

Alice is a fantastic host. She responded quickly to the questions we had and offered recommendations for dinner. Our stay was short but her property made it easy. We were minutes away from multiple trails, delicious food, and looked forward to the comforts of home at the end of the day. Beautiful place! Great location!

This is probably the best airbnb we have stayed in. It has everything you could want and more. Very clean, well supplied and well presented. Very easily walkable from the centre of Avirmore and easy access to the Cairngorms and surrounding areas. Great storage for outdoor equipment and dog friendly, including towels and bowls. Superb, very spacious, thoughtfully and immaculately presented basement flat of family home. Felt private. Super location for walking to local amenities /beach. Mike and Helen have thought through what helps a holiday maker and provided it in the apartment . Communication was v. prompt and helpful. All good!

A top class Airbnb from start to finish. Luxury finishes throughout and spotlessly clean. Andrew is very responsive to requests. Great location and walkable to everything you need during your stay. View from the kitchen and bedroom across the water is breathtaking. Parking is a bonus. We had a magic few days exploring the many river walks and mountains. It was our first time on Mull and we couldn't have wished for a better experience. Heather's apartment was perfect for us and made the visit so comfortable and convenient. We had no problems at all with the place, but her communication gave us confidence that if we had experienced any issues they would have been sorted out straight away.

The apartment was exactly as described , easy access , the apartment was clean with all the essentials . It was perfect for our family get together . Have recommended it to my family for future get togethers. Highly recommended if your are visiting the area . Many thanks Mandy

Location! Location! Location! This ground level apartment was very convenient to the Tesco next door, restaurants around the corner and more right across the river. Easy parking in the Tesco parking lot, quiet at night, lovely fittings and furnishings, great water pressure in the shower- all in all a wonderful place to stay!

As a couple with a dog seeking a weekend break Dunollie at Balquhidder was perfect for us. Cosy and spotlessly clean, in a great location for walks and the excellent Mhor84 just down the road for a superb breakfast. A perfect break for us, thank you Alison and Hannah.

Kristin was a fantastic host - really understood our needs when travelling with our baby & toddler, super responsive and great at communicating. Our baby loved the high chair - "just" an ikea one with the tray, but so handy to have this! We'll likely be back next month and will be crossing our fingers Kirstin's place is available then!

Anne's place is absolutely gorgeous. the furnishings are comfortable, the location in perfect and the views are spectacular. Anne was helpful and friendly. The flat is far more beautiful in person. The pictures are accurate and yet still don't do it justice. I will definitely stay here again!

The Oberoi house was an OUTSTANDING place to stay on the Isle of Skye. Incredible views, cozy, spacious, easy walk to downtown Portree but just enough out of the bustle to be fully immersed in the beauty around you. The place was exactly as advertised - it was clean, in excellent condition, the instructions were clear, and the space was easy to share. There are excellent common areas for reconvening as a group, but the en suite bathrooms make staying as a group comfortable and private. could not recommend this place more highly, it was a dream!

A magical place to stay, especially with children! Has everything you need and more. Comfortable rooms, and a magnificent banqueting table in the kitchen for communal meals. The lounge is bigger than it looks in the photo and can comfortably seat everybody staying. Roberta was really helpful in the run up, answering various questions I had and giving useful suggestions. Many thanks. We hope to be back someday!

Marie was a great hostess and the house was amazing in great condition and very clean. The location is good and Marie assisted us with all the questions and had a full breakfast prepared for us.

We couldn’t have found anything better than this place for a group of 8 of us staying to hike Ben Nevis and explore the surrounding areas. It had everything we needed and was worth every penny. The location is very peaceful and out of the way with a stunning view of the mountains and only a 15 minute drive away from Fort William. We hope to come back at some point in the future and stay for longer to explore this side of Scotland some more. The hosts are very friendly and are very easy to communicate with regarding check in and any requests.

Absolutely outstanding stay at Highwinds Lodge! The location is unbeatable-nestled in peaceful fields with breathtaking views of Ben Nevis, yet just a short drive from all the shops and restaurants in Fort William. The lodge itself is beautifully appointed, with every detail thoughtfully considered. Our room was spacious, the beds were incredibly comfortable, and the hot showers were a welcome luxury after a day of exploring the Highlands. Everything was spotless and felt brand new, from the luxurious en-suite bathrooms to the cozy common areas. I can’t recommend Highwinds Lodge highly enough-if you’re looking for a relaxing, memorable Highland getaway, this is the place to be. We can’t wait to come back!

Very nice house, a short walk to the waterfront but not too close to be in amongst the visitors. Quite and very handy for the Wester Ross walks and climbs. Safe garden that our dog could roam around freely. House was clean and well equipped. We had fabulous weather but it would also have worked in more traditional/wet weather with plenty of space for outdoor kit.

While we were not at the unit much (we were out sightseeing), it was a great place to come back to. There was plenty of space, photos are accurate, it was well maintained, clean and well equipped. Robin was always responsive with our questions within a short time. Great choice! We would stay again!
