Guesthouse vacation rentals in Iowa

Everything was great! Cute little cabin! This was a cold-weather stay, but Iook forward to sitting outside on a future stay. Clean, cozy and plenty of room. Parking is right by the front deck, and that is always a plus. One of the owner's children stomped out a giant "HI" in the snow outside the front door. Didn't notice it until the next morning and it made me chuckle. I'd worried about seeing the culvert-crossing at the end of the lane in the snow and dark coming back to the cabin at late hours, but it turned out to be fine and completely visible - so if anyone has worries about that - don't! Very nice place and I hope to stay again!!

it was a short stay, but the place was very welcoming! Honestly probably one of the most welcoming airbnb's I've stayed at so far. She provided us with a little welcoming bottle of wine & a smore's kit! The patio that goes out to the lake was gorgeous! I wish we could have stayed longer. I think it would feel very cozy in the wintertime.

This was our 3rd time staying here and we always feel right at home. Mike and Kim live in the “big house” a couple of hundred yards away. It’s always nice having the owners nearby…..they tend to be the best ones to rent from. The cabin is quite secluded, even though you are minutes from downtown Decorah. Decorah offers a plethora of activities…great restaurants ( this year La Rana Bistro and Twin Springs Supper Club were our dining choices. Great service and food at both places….reservations recommended. We enjoy the shopping in the independent stores downtown…a lot of high quality shops. The Vesterheim Museum complex is highly recommended. Because of the cold this year, we opted out of our usual walk in the woods..but lots of great hiking paths nearby. Mike and Kim are great hosts …they know how to run an Airbnb. Nice touches inside that provide a welcoming feeling. And Kim is always responsive in the event you have any questions. Visit 4 coming up next year!

It was perfect especially with a toddler and just an overnight stay! Most definitely will stay again in the future!

Sherri and Tony’s place was perfectly suited for our needs we stayed for 8 nights. Beautiful property with meticulously maintained guest house. Tony was often available for any on the spot questions and Sherri was extremely quick and responsive to any messages I sent through app. Ample parking as we had two large trucks with some room to spare. Nice clean bathroom with multi-head shower, fan and heater. Small kitchenette with enough to make small meals. The neighbors dog “Rooster” occasionally would wander by and say hi when we arrived back. He’s a huge sweetheart and seems to enjoy spending time at Sherri and Tony’s as much or more than the guests do. We just hope to be able to stay here next time we’re in the area. I’ll need to make sure to book early I would imagine their place will only become more popular. going forward. We had actually wanted to stay 3 more nights but they were already booked. THANK YOU SHERRI & TONY !!!!!!

I loved my time here. They are extremely responsive. She even bought me a Christmas present. They are now like family. This is my home when I ever go to Iowa.

This place was absolutely beautiful! Private, impeccably clean, beautiful furnishings, and absolutely perfect for a private space while we were visiting family in town. We had plenty of space and enjoyed early morning coffee while watching the birds and squirrels just outside the front door. I would book another stay here!!

A beautiful, peaceful getaway in rural Iowa for anyone to enjoy! I would highly recommend a stay here if you want quiet and solitude. We watched the native birds at the bird feeder and the deer roam through the yard, as well as made friends with the sweet welcome dog, Chase. I would love to come back again!

Our group of 5 enjoyed staying at Wendy’s house while we were attending a ball tournament. Wendy and her husband were both very friendly and informative about the area, places to eat, and tourist attractions. We greatly enjoyed staying at Wendy’s and would highly recommend it!

Love the country charm of this place. Clean, neat, organized and decorated perfect. Our favorite part was being able to open the garage door and it being screened in to bring in fresh air. A relaxing and enjoyable time. We plan on staying again in the future!!

We had a great long weekend at Courtney's cottage. It had everything we needed and was very comfortable! We could walk to most places, which is what we wanted. The private outdoor space was perfect for the evenings, to sit and swing and look at the stars, also very quiet. We are excited to come back and stay! We didn't see everything we wanted to on this visit. We had perfect weather, too, for the end of September.

Just a few miles from Northwestern College so it was a nice place to visit with our college kids and do a few other outings in Sioux center.

Michelle and Chad were fantastic hosts for our daughter who stayed there as she wrapped up her senior year of college. They made everything easy for us and were so friendly. The place was great and exactly as advertised. I would highly recommend them and their place to anyone.

Well thought out. Beautiful yard and so cool to see the animals on the property. Worked great for our visit to Boone. The couch is very comfortable.

We loved our stay at trestle bridge inn! The space is large, beautiful and uniquely decorated. I was most impressed with how little sound traveled throughout the space. We had our two month old with us and there was no issues with noises outside the bedroom waking him up! Helen was extremely easy to work with and we would definitely stay again!

Our stay at Sherry’s was absolutely lovely. As lots of reviews mention, her hosting skills are above and beyond. We came for a birthday fishing weekend; she left a little present of fishing lures and treats for my son. Her thoughtfulness showed up in every aspect of the stay. This is a fantastic retreat in a quiet, and especially good if you are hoping to fish. My sons lived by the water. It’s close to Omaha, as well, so there are great restaurants and activities nearby. Highly recommend.

Driving up the long driveway to this beautiful home was so wonderful! Everything in the photos was spot on and it was so wonderful to see the place in person. The College Loft was perfect. Clean, inviting, cozy and comfortable. The bed was amazing not just the mattress but the pillows and comforter as well. Decorah is a lovely and quaint town with so many wonderful restaurants, bars, coffee shops, hiking trails and a wonderful farmers market we were able to attend Saturday morning. Amanda and her family were so warm and friendly. This is definitely on our list to come back in 2025 and spend more time and know we will be in a cozy and inviting place.
