Motherby House is an 18th century grade II traditional farmhouse, the house has lost none of its original charm. Hooks embedded in oak beams show where bacon was once cured and log fires add to the warm homely atmosphere. Families are always welcome. Unwind and relax in our oak beamed living room with a refreshing cup of tea or coffee and a selection of home made cakes. There is off road parking and secure storage for cycles. The hamlet of Motherby, is positioned between Penrith and Keswick.

Set on the Dales Way, in the heart of the Lake District National Park lies Cragg House Farm. This working family farm now doubles up as a luxurious 2 room B&B. The tranquil farm is only two miles outside of Bowness-on-Windermere. There are great local pubs and eateries and walks. There is even a golf course less than half a mile away.

The house is situated on a quiet cul de sac in Kendal, a 10/15 min walk from the mainline train station, Oxenholme Station, and a 20-25 minute walk into town. The bedroom is on the ground floor with an ensuite private shower room. We are close to the hospital, ideal if need somewhere to stay if you are working there for a week or two. Breakfast is provided for you in the utility room, you are welcome to use our dining room.
