“What a gem! We came to Ballater to explore Cairngorm National Park, and Paul’s little cottage was just perfect. Very small and super cosy, with total privacy. In the evenings it is very toasty and we chose to utilise the kitchen to cook our own food and chill in front of the telly. On one night we ventured down to the village (under 10 minutes walk) and ate at India on the Green which was outstanding, and on another we drank at The Deeside Inn in front of a roaring fire and a live band. Our stay was absolutely lovely and could not recommend it enough.”

“Our stay in Katy's place was fabulous. The house is in a beautiful place, ideal if you want to explore the area. The nature there is impressive. Katie and her husband were very welcoming. The room had everything we needed and we could even enjoy a relaxing evening in front of the fireplace. They also offered us a lovely breakfast and we were able to use the kitchen to prepare our meal. I loved this place and hope to go back soon!”
We are right on the beautiful Snow Road route through Aberdeenshire. The Cabin sits within a stone's throw on the River Gairn where in Autumn you can see salmon coming up to spawn. The Holt is detached from the main house and looks out on to the garden of our home, and heather clad hills beyond. In summer you can sit and watch oyster catchers nesting on the meadows. Numerous munros are accessible within an easy drive or bike from the Cabin, and an endless choice of smaller hills.
“Lina's place is very cosy and comfortable. Three of us stayed for a weekend of walking and relaxing. We enjoyed the quiet location and beautiful wilderness on the doorstep. Although it took us a while to get there from Edinburgh because the snow roads were shut, Lina was really helpful and advised us on the best alternative route. We'd definitely go back!”
