“This was our second stay at Smithy Cottage & as last time, it was a real home-from-home experience. The cottage is spotless, cosy & has everything you need including a woodburner for those chilly Scottish evenings. Debbie is a fantastic host & provided some really lovely touches such as fresh flowers and shortbread & gravy bones on arrival! The area is outstanding - after a week there last year we came back for a couple of weeks this time and there are still plenty of local walks that we didn't get to do.”
Eilid is a lovely, spacious room with a luxurious double bed, 2 single beds & amazing views of the Forest. Kirkton House is a listed 10 bedroom Manse, set in mature walled gardens & woodland with stunning views to open countryside in the peaceful hamlet of Cairnie, Huntly just off A96. A perfect location to explore the Scottish Highlands with easy access to wonderful beaches and the UK's largest National Park The Cairngorms. We are transforming Kirkton House into a Health and Wellbeing Retreat.
“The home is spacious, clean, and informal. It has a bit of a hostel feel, all spaces are shared except for the large and airy bedrooms. Regardless, all communal areas were kept clean and tidy. The beds were very comfortable! My children loved the chickens, ducks, sheep, and cows that were part of the property but away from the main house. Everyone we met were kind and helpful, from hosts to guests. We would definitely stay again!”

“The place was just as pictured. Clean and comfortable. The beds were nice and the location was very convenient. I'd recommend this place to anyone looking to bring a few friends out for some whisky tasting and tours and good walking about.”
